Inserting negative keywords into your campaign is a way for you to tell Google the search terms you don’t want to use in your campaigns.
You have to realize that when you advertise on search terms in your niche market & you use the “broad match” feature you are telling them that they can include words in to the search term that you are trying to bid on.
So if you are trying to bid on the term “dog training”, they could run your ad when people type in the term “free dog training”.
If you don’t know what you are doing you could end up having your ads run for all kinds of keywords that you don’t want to get visitors to your site from!
Step #2 – Make a list of terms you don’t want your ads to be shown for!
The next step you need to take is to make sure you create a list of all the terms that you don’t want Google to run your ads for. So you want to use words like “free” and other ones that will bring lower quality traffic that you know will not buy what you are selling.
Step #3 – Load the terms into your account and test your results.
What you will find is that once you load up your negative keyword list into your campaign you will find that you might get less traffic to your site. But the good thing is that you will get more qualified visitors who will probably buy more stuff.
